Adhesive-Free Salt Wall Installation: How It Works and How You Can Do It Yourself in One Day

Himalayan salt walls are becoming an increasingly popular feature in saunas, wellness centers, and private homes. Yet many people are put off by a single concern: 'How does it actually get installed? Do I need a professional?'

The answer is simpler than it seems. Thanks to the adhesive-free mounting system, virtually anyone can complete the installation - no special tools, no construction experience, and no chemicals required.

Why an Adhesive-Free System - and What Does That Actually Mean?

The traditional method of setting salt stones required adhesive or mortar. This came with several drawbacks:

  • A damaged stone could not be replaced without dismantling the entire wall
  • Disassembly was practically impossible
  • Chemical adhesives could affect the properties of the salt
  • Installation took days, including drying time

The adhesive-free system eliminates these problems. Salt elements are held in an aluminium profile without any bonding agent - they are secured mechanically, firmly, and the entire wall can be disassembled at any time.

What Is Included in the Delivery

  • Salt elements - bricks (200×100×50 mm) or tiles (200×100×25 mm)
  • Aluminium mounting profile - specially designed to hold the salt elements
  • LED lighting - system with adjustable brightness and colour modes
  • Installation guide - detailed step-by-step instructions

Salt Wall Installation

Step-by-Step Installation Process

1. Preparing the Surface

The wall must be flat, dry, and clean. Standard plaster, drywall, or wood is sufficient.

⚠️ Important: A salt wall is not suitable for areas with direct water contact - pools, bathrooms with direct water spray, or steam saunas. For traditional Finnish saunas and dry interiors, installation is fully recommended.

2. Mounting the Aluminium Profile

The profile is attached to the wall using standard wall plugs. Horizontal rows of profiles form the framework for the salt elements.

3. Inserting the Salt Elements

Salt bricks or tiles simply slot into the prepared profile. No force or specialist skill is needed.

4. Installing the LED Lighting

The LED strip is placed behind the salt elements or into the profile gaps and plugged into a standard socket.

5. The Result

The finished wall is solid and functional. The entire process takes one day depending on the surface area - even with no prior experience.

The Key Advantages of the Adhesive-Free System

Replace Individual Elements Without Dismantling the Whole Wall

If a salt stone is damaged, simply remove it from the profile and replace it with a new one.

Mobility - You Can Move the Wall

The entire structure is disassembly and portable. During renovation, the salt wall moves with you.

No Chemicals, No Odours

The adhesive-free system is entirely mechanical - suitable even for health-sensitive environments.

Fast Installation

Without waiting for adhesive to dry, the wall is ready and functional immediately after installation.
